Geobotany as an object of study
Geobotany is an expanding
field of nature sciences among the biological disciplines which is not only of
growing public interest but also gains more and more attention as a discipline
at universities.
Various possibilities of
geobotanic research give the students many-sided activities, beside the classic
vegetation science also on the fields of applied geobotany, on scientific
nature conservation, on questions of biotope management or on the total area of
environmental sciences.
This development shows a generally growing interest
in biological and landscape ecological disciplines. The social political
development of the past was also conductive to see the special significance of
ecosystem research as an effective control policy of pollution. Geobotanists
make an important contribution concerning the development and accomplishment of
future tasks on the area of climate and environmental research or on the field
of nature and landscape conservation.
